Learning about the Past

I know I have mentioned genealogy. I think its important to learn about our family history. I am always amazed when I uncover something new. This week I got a box in the mail from a distant relative by marriage. She had photos of my husband’s grandfather, Albert. He never got to meet the man while he was alive, his own dad didn’t even get to meet his father. But this incredible relative had been handed down family photos and had a collection of images of him from childhood into his adult life. I was shocked to see the resemblance my husband and father-in-law had to this man they’d never met. Today I am so thankful for these photos that provide a very small glimpse into a life past.
