NW Louisiana has some incredible artists!

The new mayor in Shreveport has decided to highlight many of the talented artists in our region by allowing them to have a gallery exhibit in the mayor’s reception area. The artists can apply to be one of the selected to show their work through the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). Then the artist will have their work hand for a few months. Since soon after this collaboration started I have been getting hired by SRAC to hang the exhibits. The end of August, I worked with Neil Johnson to hang his work, all beautiful photos of flowers.

That work came down on January 22nd, so I could hang the new artist, Ron Smith’s work, on the 23rd. I am so blessed to have been able to work with Neil in curating the last exhibit that he personally got to work on. I am also thrilled to be able to work with Ron in curating his beautiful work.

If you get the chance, go by the mayors office in the next few months. You won’t be disappointed by Ron’s incredible skills!
