Golden Lens~A great addition to the Louisiana Film Prize

This is the second year of the Golden Lens photo competition. It is one of the newest additions to the Louisiana Film Prize, a local competition for film (video/movie) makers in our part of the world. It has been going on for over a decade and it has grown steadily to include food prize, music prize, taco wars, and now the Golden Lens. An unbiased juror (professional photographer) chooses from the submitted images for the 30 that will be in the exhibit. The images have to be created in downtown Shreveport or Bossier within the two weeks that Film Prize occurs.

This year I had two double exposure images that made it into the exhibition. I was quite surprised since they were VERY different then all the other images that were submitted. My images were digital double exposures created in camera (no photoshop.) While creating the images that I chose from for this project I really wanted to show how there are so many sides to Shreveport. It is hard to do that in one image, but the idea created a fun challenge.
